Neverin API

Neverin data in your code

Forecasts, nowcasts and weather station measurements over a REST API, in JSON.

For scripts, home automation, websites and your own apps.

What the API offers

Three kinds of data, one key

Weather forecast

The Neverin forecast for all weather parameters, for any location in the world. Up to 14 days ahead.

Precipitation nowcast

Precipitation for the next 1 to 4 hours in 5-minute steps, from a radar image of Europe that refreshes every 5 minutes.

Weather stations

Measurements from weather, air quality, sea temperature and soil stations. Station owners also get the full history of their measurements.

Who can use the API

What you get with each plan

DataFreePremium
Your stations: current data and full history
Forecast and nowcast
Weather stations: current data
Number of requests
Requests for your own stations are never counted.
1,000 a day

Owners of an active weather station get unlimited API requests for their station's data.

On top of all this, Neverin Business offers station history, multiple stations in one call and a much broader scope of data, with limits set by contract.

Getting started

Your first call in under 5 minutes

1

Log in to Neverin and verify your email address.

2

API key

Create a key in your Profile, in the API keys section. It's shown only once, so save it somewhere safe right away.

3

First call

Send the key in the X-API-Key header. The example below returns the forecast for Zagreb.

Example
curl -H "X-API-Key: nvr_live_..." \
  "https://api.neverin.hr/v1/forecast/weather?lat=45.815&lon=15.982"

All routes, parameters and example responses are in the documentation. Open the documentation →

Rules

Three rules for using the API

Keep your key secret

Don't put it in a URL or in code that runs in a browser; call the API from your own server instead. If your key leaks, revoke it in your Profile and create a new one.

Credit the source

Alongside the data you show, credit the source given in the meta.attribution field of the response.

Personal and non-commercial projects

The API is intended for personal and non-commercial projects, and public display of the data is allowed with attribution. Commercial use requires a Business contract. Use your own stations' data however you like.

Frequently asked questions

Is the API free?
For station owners in the Neverin network, yes: their stations' data is available on a free account, with no daily limit. The forecast, the nowcast and other stations are part of the Premium subscription, and anything beyond that is arranged through Neverin Business.
Does the trial period include the API?
No. During the trial period, the same applies as with a free account: station owners can create a key for their own stations' data.
What happens to my key when Premium expires?
Your key stays and keeps working for your stations. The forecast, the nowcast and other stations are available again as soon as you renew Premium, with no need to create a new key.
How many keys can I have?
Up to three active keys, for example one for each integration. The daily request limit applies to the whole account, not to each key.
How do I find a station's ID?
Every station has a numeric ID that never changes. You can find your station's ID in your Profile. For other stations, the /v1/stations/nearby route returns those around a given point, with their IDs.
Can I call the API from JavaScript on a website?
Not directly, because anyone who opens the page could then read your key. Call the API from your own server, store the responses there and send only the data to the page.
Neverin Business

Need more than what's in the documentation?

Through Neverin Business you can request a much larger dataset than the API documentation describes, including the history of all stations and multiple stations in one call, as well as a custom system built for your business. Scope, limits and commercial use are agreed in the contract.
